If you’re due or overdue for cervical screening, you can visit the new mobile cervical screening unit at locations across Salford South East this autumn.
Cervical screening, sometimes called a smear test, helps prevent cervical cancer.
Where will the mobile unit be located?
The mobile cervical screening unit will visit local communities across the Salford South East Primary Care Network from October to December.
If you’re eligible for cervical screening and you’re due or overdue, you can drop in without an appointment. The service is available for women and people with a cervix aged 25 to 64 who are eligible for screening.
What to expect
The screening test usually takes just a few minutes. However, if you have questions or concerns, you can talk to the screening team before deciding whether to have the test.
The service is designed to make screening easier to access in a convenient local location.
